Three days earlier our group had just descended Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, East Africa. Now we were making our way through the Umbrella-Acacias, ambling our van into the gathering of giraffes. As we looked up at the towering giants they ignored us. Suddenly they scattered in a long, slow-motion stride. What was so threatening? A small Maasai boy with a stick.
